Xavi Rico 

After leading a successful coaching career in Wisconsin, Xavi Rico was recently appointed as a Regional Director of Coaching for U9-U13 Boys at Colorado Storm. In addition to overseeing the player and coach development at the North region, he works with Storm’s top girls and boys teams in ECNL and USSDA to enhance the players’ techniques and footwork. Born and raised in Mexico, Xavi grew his passion for soccer playing and watching it all the time. Following his playing career at Tecnologico de Monterrey and Club Rayados de Monterrey , he moved to Wisconsin to play for Milwaukee Wave United. While playing there, he started coaching youth soccer and the rest was history. Xavi believes in the fundamentals of futbol along with the art of ball mastery, and his training curriculum encompasses versatile soccer training techniques using advanced foot skill exercises. He encourages ingenuity and creativity in his players and strives to share his passion and love for the game of soccer with all players he coaches. His coaching helped his teams win 10 Wisconsin State Championships over 7 years and led one team to qualify for US Youth Soccer National League. In 2016, he received the US Youth Soccer National Coach of the Year (Boys Competitive) award for his coaching accomplishment. He also owns and operates XR Training, LLC. which specializes in soccer player development through camps, group training, as well as private training.
